Sketch Saturday

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you at Sketch Saturday; Niki is our sponsor this week and here is our sketch:

I combined this challenge with Catch the Bug's Inspiration Challenge:

I went with Bugaboo's Dotty...she isn't baking cakes, but she is baking fruit pies!  I've colored her with pencils and paired her with some fun papers from my stash.  I think I will send this one to my Mom, as a "thank you"; she baked some pies for the cake auction I was in charge of earlier this month.

I went with "Winter Scarf Birdbrain" and added just a touch of glitter to her eyes after coloring the image.  For embellishing I've used twill, die cut snowflakes, and bling.

Sketch Saturday #349

Good morning!  Saturday means a new sketch at the Sketch Saturday challenge blog!  As always, it's a fun one!   Our sponsor for the week is A Random Fan; they have some adorable images!   Here's our sketch:

I picked some patterned papers and colored my image to match, but I just wasn't liking the finished result....  Then I had the idea to go with an all white card base; it turns out that I like the simplicity!  I've used textured vellum for the slanted panel and white brads to secure the banner.

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Stamper's Select and Vellum
Embellies: Recollections Brads

Lucky Birdbrain Chick

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Jennifer has chosen our challenge and she would like to see "Anything Green".  Sounds good!

Since St. Patrick's day is right around the corner, I decided to go with Lucky Birdbrain Chick; the image is colored with pencils and I've added a lot of glitter so it is nice and sparkly.  I pulled out a past From The Heart Stamps sketch and the twist that week was monochromatic so that was perfect for R.R. theme!  I did add just a splash of pink for color.  Here's the sketch:

Happy Valentine's Day

Good morning and Happy Valentine's Day!  Since it's Saturday we have a great, new sketch for you from Sketch Saturday; our sponsor for this challenge is Simon Says Stamp!

I really couldn't resist making a Valentine card for this challenge (sadly, I didn't get many made this year); I pulled out an adorable image from The Cat's Pajamas and paired it with a trio of papers from my stash.  The bunny is colored with pencils and accented with glitter; for embellishment, I've added some sparkly clouds and hearts.  This one was really fun to make...pearlized and foil paper, plus lots of glitter...it really shimmers and sparkles!

Stella Cupid

Good morning!  It's Oldie But Goodie day at Catch the Bug...I decided to pull Stella out of the archives.  A little Valentine humor is always good, right?!

Stella is colored with Spectrum markers and accented with glitter.  I went a bit non-traditional with the colors and used the sketch from Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  I used some red bling for embellishing.

Well, Spring makes me think of flowers....  I thought of this adorable DeNami chick and paired her with some delicate, colorful papers.  She is colored with pencils and I've accented her flower with glitter.  I've used Doodlebug Sugar Coated CS for the die cut flower and leaves.  CAS...but I love it...the colors and the chick make me happy!

Bugaboo ABC

Good morning!  It's Monday so that means it's Anything But a Card at Catch the Bug.  Today I did some simple packaging using a pre-colored digi.  I've added some dimension by popping up the monster's head and finished by adding some glitter to the horns, heart, and scales.  I wrapped the box with a strip of patterned paper and popped the image panel up.  This will be perfect for a little something for my daughter!
