For the One I Love

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge at Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Helen has chosen our challenge..."For the One You Love".  Great challenge!

I knew that I didn't want to make a Valentine, so after thinking a bit I thought of this fun Changito image and paired it with some papers that aren't too Valentine-like, and the Sketch Saturday sketch.  Changito is colored with pencils and I've accented the balloon with glitter.  I've embellished simply with a button and floss.  I like how this one turned out...love the sunny pop of yellow!  Will keep this in my stash to give to one of the kids "just because".

Bewitchin' Birdbrains

Good morning!  Our challenge this week, at From the Heart Stamps, is to use any of the past sketches....I chose to use last week's sketch and went with a Halloween theme.  Halloween and Birdbrains, sounds fun!  Right?!  Here's the sketch:

The image is colored with pencils and accented with glitter.  I thought I was so clever using the text patterned paper for the "sentiment" portions of the card...until I was finished, looked at the sketch, and realized I turned my papers around....  The text was supposed to go across the top and bottom, not the middle!  Ugh!  I added brads, ribbon, and die cut moon and clouds for embellishing.  I like this one (even if I did mess it up!)...the Birdbrains are adorable!

Image: From the Heart Stamps "Bewitchin' Birdbrains" Digital Image
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Peach Parfait, PTI True Black, My Mind's Eye Patterned Paper, Doodlebug Sugar Coated CS
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads, SU! Black Grosgrain Ribbon, Doodlebug Glitter (yellow and purple)
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, MFT Die-namics Dies (sun, flat bottomed clouds), MFT Felt, Foam Tape

There's still time to play along with this week's challenge...you have your pick of 83 sketches!  What are you waiting for?!

Humor Me Wednesday

Good morning!  It's Humor Me Wednesday at Catch the Bug; Humor Me Holidays for this week are:

21st: Count Your Buttons Day
22nd: National Nut Day
24th: National Bologna Day or United Nations Day
25th: Make a Difference Day or Punk For a Day or World Pasta Day
27th: Tell a Story Day

I went with "Count Your Buttons Day"...I took a bit of a cheeky approach!  LOL  I love this image of Stella!  She is colored with pencils and I've added a glittery border.  Gotta love the sparkly stuff...even though it makes a mess and gets all over...I'm pretty sure Stella found some in her belly button!  LOL  I used Deconstructed Sketch 173...I love that the image panel is small and the layout lets the pretty patterned paper shine.

I am really hoping I didn't scare you with the mess on my table...I think I create better surrounded with a bit of chaos!  LOL  On to the card....  I used Sketch Saturday's sketch and some papers from my stash, which I have lightly distressed.  The image is colored with pencils...she was fun to color!  I embellished simply with holly/berry die cuts.

If you have arrived from our Guest Designer Kitty's blog, you are in the right place.  If not, you may want to start at the From the Heart Stamps blog so that you don't miss anything.

My card for today features Super Birdbrain and the sentiment is from Hope Butterflies and Blooms Awareness Set.  The sketch is from Papertake Weekly.    I like how the Super Birdbrain image can do double duty...not only can it be used for Dad, it can be used as inspiration to those fighting breast cancer.  She's rocking the glittery cape and eye shadow!  I kept it pretty clean and simple with this one; some easy layering, glitter and brads.  Aside from the tiny brads, this card is flat...not something I usually do!

Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Pretty in Pink, Me & My Big Ideas Patterned Paper
Embellies: Art Glitter in "Pink Smoothie", Spare Parts Brads
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Corner Chomper, Spellbinders Nestabilities
