Hoppy Christmas

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from both the Creative Card Crew and Tuesday Morning Sketches...the challenge theme for both blogs is "Anything Goes" so I thought I would do 1 post since time is a bit short during the holidays.

I've used a From the Heart Stamps image called Hoppy Christmas...I fell in love with this one the first time I saw it!  The adorable spotted frog is colored with pencils and I've added some super sparkly glitter to his Santa hat and heart, along with some subtle glitter to his green spots.  For the rest of the card, I went monochromatic to keep the focus on the image.

Stocking Ants

Good morning!  We have a new sketch for you at Tuesday Morning Sketches; this one lets the image shine.  You can check out the sketch and challenge details here, along with the DT cards to inspire you.  We do hope you will play along!

I used a fun set from Doodle Pantry called Stocking Ants...the image, sentiment, and DP are all included...it makes it so easy to put a card together!  I've just done some layering and added brads and glitter for embellishing.  There is a dimensional in the middle of the sentiment just to add a bit of interest...I should have taken a photo from another angle....

'tis the season

Good morning!  Mondays mean a new sketch at From the Heart Stamps...it's a fun one...I hope you will join us and try it!

I am using Holly Jolly Christmas today.  The birdbrain is colored with pencils and accented with glitter, then die cut and layered.  I hated to hide the cute DP so I've used vellum for one of the layers and secured it with brads.  Somewhere in my stash is a cute present charm, but I couldn't find it so I used a banner instead.  Ack!  Does that ever happen to you?  You have a plan, but can't find what you want....  So frustrating!

Image: From the Heart Stamps
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Blue Bayou, PTI Pure Poppy, My Mind's Eye DP, The Paper Studio Vellum
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads, Martha Stewart Crystal Fine Glitter, Doodlebug Glitter (yellow)

Jingle-balls

Good morning!  It's Tuesday so that means we have another sketch for you from Tuesday Morning Sketches
.  We also have a twist; this week is our judged challenge and we would like to see you use snowmen or jingle bells...or both...on your creations!

I remembered this fun Whipper Snapper stamp and thought it would be perfect...snowmen and jingle bells!  The image is colored with pencils and I've added some subtle glitter to the Santa hat and jingle bells.  I used some paper that I've had in my stash for years; I shabbied it up a bit by applying ink to the edges, then white paint, followed by a dusting of glitter.  I embellished simply with red grosgrain ribbon and a snowflake.  I also applied ink, paint, and glitter to the patterned layer of the snowflake and finished it with a jingle bell brad.

Be merry...

Good morning!  Hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving!  Are any of you Black Friday shoppers?  We have gone before, but not this year....  I was really disappointed that so many stores were open on Thanksgiving...it would have been nice if the employees could have had the day off.  I think I'm getting off track....

Doodle Pantry's December release is available a bit early, and along with that is a wonderful sale...more details to come....  Today I have a card to share using Tropical Drinks; everything was included in the set...images, sentiment, DP.  I've combined the images (printing an extra blue beverage) and added a sentiment.  I fussy cute the extra image and popped it up for dimension.  I've added a bit of glitter and some Swarovski flatbacks for embellishing.  I kept the card simple so the focus would be on the colorful image; those fruity juices look delicious!

Image/Sentiment: Doodle Pantry Tropical Drinks
Ink: Printer, SU! Black Marker
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Stamper's Select and True Black, Doodle Pantry DP
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "AB", Doodlebug Glitter
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, EK Success 3D Dots, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

About the sale....  Everything in the store, except for bundled/fundraiser products, is 40% off thru December 3...that's a great deal!  You can read the details here.  The great thing is, you don't have to go out in the cold or brave the crowds...you can shop from the comfort of your own home!

Thank you for stopping by: enjoy the holiday weekend!

Good morning!  We have a new challenge for you from Ruby's Rainbow; for this fortnight Denise has chosen our challenge and she would like to see "Pearls, Flowers, and Charms".  Hmmm, I do have to say that this was indeed a challenge for me!  I had to think "out of the box" a bit....

I went with a fun set from Doodle Pantry, Snowman Pile-Up; it includes line art, pre-colored images, sentiments, and DP...everything you need!  I went with a pre-colored image, a sentiment, and 2 of the DPs.  After printing the elements, I did a bit of layering and added my embellishments; a "flurry" of pearls for snow, a white felt "loopy bloom" flower embellished with a snowflake charm and pearl.  It was fun to see if I could make this challenge work for a winter card!  I also added some glitter to the image, but I didn't capture the sparkle with my photo...it is pretty in real life!

The Peep is colored with pencils and her eyes are dotted with a black gel pen...isn't her vintage style adorable?  The phone is paper pieced and I've added some black glitter to "glam" it up.  The papers are distressed and I've added a resin flower and Swarovskis flatbacks for embellishing.  (I'm not so sure I like my embellishing, but it was almost 2 a.m. and I was getting tired....)

Doodle Pantry November Release

Good morning!  It's release time at Doodle Pantry and Laurie has added some great new sets to the shop; there is a variety of styles, so there is something for everyone.  I've got a card to share using the new Coffee & Biscotti set, which includes line art, pre-colored digis, sentiments, and an assortment of papers.  I would love a piece of that chocolate dipped biscotti right now...yum!

I've used pre-colored images and one of the coordinating DPs in the set...I think the DP has a pretty vintage look.  I've layered the coffee and biscotti, then printed 2 extra biscotti and fussy cut them; the chocolate dipped one is popped up for dimension.  I've done some layering and added some ribbon for embellishing.

Ink: Printer
Paper: SU! Rose Red and Chocolate Chip, "Coffee Biscotti" DP
Embellie: SU! Rose Red Grosgrain Ribbon
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

You can check out some of the new sets/creations here; you are sure to gain some inspiration!

I am also entering my card in the Ooh La La Challenge: Food and Drink

Birthday Chicks

Welcome to our From the Heart Stamps Blog Hop; we are celebrating birthdays today!

As you hop along, please leave a comment on each entry.  One random commenter will be selected on each blog to win the image that the designer used.  And additionally, one commenter on the From the Heart Stamps blog will be selected to win a $5 gift voucher to the store!

We are also having a little word search today.  As you stop on each blog, collect the special letter they have for you.  Put the letters together for a message.  Everyone who figures out the message can use it as a code to receive 50% off of one image in the birthday section of the FTHS Shop.  The code will be good until Monday, November 4th at 6 a.m. EST.  My letter for you is "R".

If you have arrived from Ruza's blog, you are in the right place; if not, why don't you start on the From the Heart Stamps blog, so you don't miss anything.

Here is my project, using Birthday Chicks.

Ink: printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Winter Wisteria and Dark Chocolate, Doodlebug DP
Embellies: PTI Winter Wisteria Grosgrain Ribbon/Dark Chocolate Twill, Art Glitter in "Polar Bear"
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/Goo Gone, Corner Chomper,.Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I pulled one of my favorite DPs from my stash and colored the chicks to coordinate; there is a touch of glitter on the green chick's pink heart.  I've done some layering and embellished with ribbon; the sketch is from Atlantic Hearts Sketch Challenge.

Now head over to Dee's blog and see what she has created.

Thanks for hopping with us today.  The hop will end on Monday, November 4th at 6 a.m. EST.  Winners will be posted on the From the Heart Stamps Blog on Wednesday, November 6th.

I am also entering my card in the following challenges:

Witch Stella

Good morning!  The ladies at Ruby's Rainbow have a new challenge for you; this fortnight Jennifer has chosen our challenge...Halloween, or use the colors of orange/purple/black.  I had this new Stella image just waiting to be used for a card...go Stella!  (Her crabbiness just makes me laugh!)

Stella is colored with pencils and I've used a black gel pen to dot her eyes (and the spider).  You can't see it well here, but I've used glitter accents...buckle, eye shadow, star, spider web.  The image is popped up and I've added some buttons for embellishing.

Survivor

I'm back again with a new challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches; our sponsor this week is Saturated Canary.  I love Krista's images!

I have dedicated my TMS October posts to Breast Cancer Awareness, so I pulled out this cutie from my stash to finish the month.  The image is colored with pencils and I have gone the clean and simple route with the sketch, keeping the SCS HYCCT challenge of "Flat is Fabulous" in mind.  I die cut some hexagons for the background and just slightly popped up the image.  I finished with a simple stamped sentiment.  This card can be sent with just a regular stamp; I don't know about you, but that doesn't happen too often!

Paper: G.P. 110, SU! Pink Pirouette, PTI Smokey Shadow, the girls' paperie DP

Pumpkin Barry

Good morning!  It's time for a new challenge from the ladies at Creative Card Crew; for this fortnight our sponsor is Stamp Fairy and our theme is "Teddy Bear Picnic"...we would like to see you use Teddy Bears on your card.  This was a fun one!  Stamp Fairy has adorable bears, so I pulled Barry from my stash and whipped up a Halloween card.  As for the picnic...I'm sure this little cutie will soon be munching on his Halloween treats!

I combined this challenge with the Digi Sketch Challenge, which was a sketch and a 1,2,3 challenge (now that's really a challenge!).  The image is colored with pencils and Barry's eyes are dotted with a black gel pen.  I pulled some papers from my stash that are bright and cheery...not scary, and embellished with glittery bats and Bella Dots.

Birdbath Chick

Good morning!  I've made another card for the SCS HYCCT challenges; this one is for the "Peace and Quiet" challenge...no words on the front of the card.

I thought this From the Heart Stamps image, Birdbath Chick, was the perfect image...I went with soothing aqua, but added a pop of pink!  She is colored with pencils and I've added a touch of subtle glitter to her eyelids...a girl still needs to look her best while relaxing in her bubble bath...right?!  The bubbles are nice and sparkly, but the camera failed to capture that; I've also added some iridescent ribbon and die cut bubbles for embellishing.

Image: From the Heart Stamps "Birdbath Chick"
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Melon Mambo, American Crafts DP

Faith

Hello!  I'm sharing another card, that I made for SCS HYCCT challenges; this one is for the "Many Colors of Cancer" challenge.  I chose black, which stands for melanoma.  For my card, I am using Doodle Pantry's Special Ribbons set; it has colored ribbons to represent the different kinds of cancer, matching DPs, and sentiments.  The sketch is from last week's Just Add Ink challenge.

I printed the word "Faith" on my background panel, rounded the corners and adhered it to a black card base.  The ribbon DP was matted and popped up with dimensionals to frame the word.  For embellishing, I've added a button and Swarovski flatback crystal.  The inside is lined with a white panel with the sentiment "It's not what we say that matters, It's what we DO!"

Sentiment: Doodle Pantry "Special Ribbons" Set
Ink: Printer
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI True Black, Doodle Pantry "Special Ribbons" DP
Embellies: PTI Button, Swarovski Flatback Crystal in "Black Diamond"
Extras: Corner Chomper, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

My Mother was diagnosed with melanoma last spring; thankfully she is doing well as it was caught early.  It was such a surprise as she has not been one to be in the sun a lot; she noticed a "freckle" that didn't look quite right.  When the biopsy came back as melanoma, she underwent a wide excision biopsy.  Even though I'm a nurse, this was not something I was familiar with.  I was shocked at how big her incision was!  She now has to have full body screenings every 3 months; they also recommend her siblings and children be screened too.  This is a deadly form of cancer!  Please be proactive; wear sunscreen and examine your skin for changes.

Doodle Pantry is having a Wild West Sale through October 27; all western themed products are 30% off!  You can check out some awesome cards from the DT and the sale details here.
