Butterfly Babies

Hello!  I stumble upon something yesterday that I wanted to share with you all.  Krista, from Saturated Canary, has created a new digital image to benefit families battling EB.  I had never heard about this...you can read about it here and if you'd like to purchase the digital image, you may do so here.  I think it is a lovely image and can't wait until it is available in her shop...I am just hoping I can do it justice with my coloring!

Have a super day!

Thank You TREEmendously

Good Wednesday morning!  I have a card to share for our fortnightly challenge at Ruby's Rainbow; my teamie Lesley has chosen trees as our theme.  I thought of this new Clear Dollar Stamps set from Lisa Lara called Apple Licious; it really has some fun images and coordinating sentiments...you can check it out here.

I simply sized and printed my image and sentiment, then matted it with chocolate CS and adhered the sentiment with 2 chocolate mini brads.  I placed a dimensional behind the middle of the sentiment to give it a bit of interest.

Image/Sentiment: Clear Dollar Stamps "Apple Licious" Digital Set
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Dark Chocolate, SU! Poppy Parade
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads

Red Hat Mama

Good morning!  It's time for another challenge from the ladies at Creative Card Crew...this fortnight our challenge is to use purple.  Now I don't know about you, but I think of the red hat ladies when I think of purple...that made me think of Bugaboo's Stella!  Isn't she a hoot?

The image is colored with pencils and the frame is accented with glitter.  I kept the card simple with a bit of dry embossing and some Swarovski crystals.  My daughter told me it was missing something and told me to "bling it up".  Sometimes clean and simple is nice for a change of pace....  I'm not so sure what to add or where I would put it...what do you think?  Any suggestions?  I'd love to hear them!

Image: Bugaboo Digital Stamp
Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, Royal Velvet, and Pure Poppy, SU! Lavendar Lace
Embellies: Swarovski Flatback Crystals, Martha Stewart Iridescent Fine Glitter in "Candy Apple" (Thank you Vickie...love it!)

Trick-or-Treat

Good Friday morning...the weekend is almost here!  I liked the sketch for Wednesday's SCS Sketch Challenge, so I thought I'd play along.  It took me 2 days to finish this simple card...between doing this and that, I was able to steal a few minutes here and there.  I will definitely use this sketch again; there were some really beautiful cards in the gallery to use as inspiration.

My little chick is colored with pencils and highlighted with a black gel pen and some glitter.  I've had the sentiment border set for years and this is the first time I've used one of them...I thought this one was perfect.  It's also colored with pencils and highlighted with a bit of glitter.  I like the contrast of the stark white background and the muted designer papers.

Image/Sentiment: Stampendous
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, Sakura Black Gel Pen
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Cajun Craze, Fancy Pants Designs DP
Embellie: Embossing Arts Glitter
Extras: Prismas/Goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

I combined the sketch with a few other challenges:

Crazy For Challenges: Anything Goes, With a Fall Twist
Inky Impressions: For a Child

Clear Dollar Stamps September Blog Hop

Good morning!  It's time for Clear Dollar Stamps monthly blog hop!  For September our theme is ABC or 1,2,3; I chose to go the 1,2,3 route and used 1 image, 2 patterned papers, and 3 brads.

I'm using a set called "Spider Greetings".  I've enjoyed making Halloween cards lately, so this was a fun image to work with.  I did a bit of distressing on my papers to mimic the hairy little spider.  To embellish, I added 3 brads.

Ink: Printer
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select, SU! Cajun Craze and Basic Black, My Mind's Eye DP
Embellies: Spare Parts Brads
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Clear Dollar Stamps September Release

Good morning!  Today I have a couple of cards to share using 2 new sets from Clear Dollar Stamps.  First up is a fun set called Harvest Punkins; it includes pre-colored images with coordinating papers, line art, many fun sentiments, and cute images for the back of your card.  I decided to go with a Halloween theme and created a little scene.  I printed the image on both DP and white cardstock.  I colored the image, cut it out and adhered it to the purple background.  I used a bunch of diecuts for embellishing...felt grass and clouds, along with a diecut moon and bats.  To finish, I adhered some Bella Dots.

Image: Clear Dollar Stamps "Harvest Punkins" Digital Stamp
Ink: Printer, SU! Black Marker
Paper: G.P. 110, PTI Plum Pudding and Orange Zest, SU! Basic Black, The Paper Studio Black Glitter DP, We R Memory Keepers DP

Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, PTI Cloud Dies (MFT felt), The Cat's Pajamas Grass CutUps Die (MFT felt), Martha Stewart Bat Punch, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Next up is a set called Scripture Occasions; it contains 8 verses in a lovely font.  I decided to make a shabby chic sympathy card.  I printed my sentiment on DP in dark brown ink, and embellished with ribbon, felt roses and Swarovski crystals.

Sentiment: Clear Dollar Stamps "Scripture Occasions" Digital Set
Ink: Printer (dark brown)
Embellies: SU! Chocolate Chip Grosgrain Ribbon, Swarovski Flatback Crystals in "Smokey Topaz"

Back-to-School BINGO

Good morning!  Ruby's Rainbow has a fun new challenge for this fortnight...Shaz has chose BINGO for our theme.  How fun is that?!  I love this kind of challenge...so many possibilities!  I chose to work with pearls-flowers-ribbon.

I pulled out this darling set from SU!...it has the cutest vintage inspired images!  The image is colored with pencils and I paired it with papers from Cosmo Cricket.  There are a lot of patterns going on, so I kept the embellishing to a minimum with a single pearl, a handmade flower, and a snippet of ribbon.

Image: SU! Greeting Card Kids
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black
Paper: PTI Vintage Cream, SU! Blue Bayou, Cosmo Cricket DP
Embellies: Kaiser Pearl, Satin Ribbon (my stash)

TSM #163

Good Tuesday morning!  Today we have another fun challenge from Tuesday Morning Sketches; this week Dawn was the sketch artist and since it is a judged challenge, we also have a twist..."Welcome Fall".

I will have to say that Dawn threw me for a loop with this one!  I guess that is why it's called a challenge...LOL  As I was looking through my paper stash, I came across these Doodlebug papers and stickers.  I ended up making my center circle bigger to accommodate the purple monster.  I don't know about you, but he reminds me of the Purple People Eater!  I added some Bella Dots and googlie eyes for embellishing.

Papers: PTI Royal Velvet, SU! Basic Black, Doodlebug DP
Embellies: Doodlebug Stickers, Bella Dots, Googlie Eyes (Hobby Lobby)
Extras: Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

Love the Earth

Good (early) morning!  It's time for another fun challenge from the ladies at Creative Card Crew; this fortnight our challenge is "trees" and our sponsor is Simon Says Stamp.

Have you ever known exactly what you wanted to make, but couldn't find the stamp?  That's what happened to me with this one!  I am in the midst of moving my stamp area into my new space (my very own room...just for me!) and it's a bit messy....  I never did find the stamp set I was looking for, but I did find a set from Unity instead.  So, as Tim Gunn says, "make it work"!  I switched gears...found some papers, a new layout, etc.  The tree is colored with pencils and embellished with Bella Dots; I used a few diecuts and did a bit of layering.

Stamps: Unity Stamp Company
Ink: Memento Tuxedo Black, SU! Poppy Parade, SU! Close to Cocoa Marker
Paper: PTI Stamper's Select and Dark Chocolate, SU! Garden Green, Daisy Bucket Designs DP
Embellies: Bella Dots
Extras: Prismas/Crayolas/goo Gone, Spellbinder's Nestabilities, The Paper Studio Sticky Doos

A bit of this and that....

(Click here for the goodie giveaway!)

Good morning!  Just thought I'd give you a peek of what I've been up to lately.  I made a decorated tree and a basket of cards for a cancer fundraiser (which is today).  This week I have been sewing dogs and bones and finishing up my cards.  Whew!  I'm glad I am done for this year...I really enjoy doing it, but am relieved when I am finished and my tree is delivered!

This year the tree is in honor of our puppy Paisley.  She is 5 months now and tips the scales at 50+ pounds...she does not look like a puppy anymore!  The dogs in the picture are gray because she is a charcoal Lab.  A lot of people havn't seen a charcoal before so we get a lot of inquiries as to what she is... she has been called chocolate, blue, silver, and purple!  LOL  We have a blue cream cat, so I get the blue, but I have never seen a purple dog before!

Here are a few more pics of the tree:

Paisley loves to lay on her back and have her tummy scratched, so that's why this dog is belly up!

Here are a couple of pictures of Paisley.  The first is at 7 weeks and the second at 14 weeks; she is much bigger now, but it is hard to get a good photo as she is rarely still!

Thanks for stopping by; I hope you have a fun and safe Labor Day weekend!
